Pizza Sauce
A great pizza starts with the tomato sauce! If you have sauce left over after baking your pizzas, freeze it for your next pizza session or use it for a tasty pasta.

Ingredients
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 yellow onion, halved
- 1 garlic clove, smashed
- 0.5 tsp salt
- A pinch of sugar
- Coarsely ground black pepper
- A few sprigs of sliced fresh basil
- 1 can of crushed tomatoes (400 ml)
Directions
- Heat the olive oil together with the onion, garlic, salt, sugar, and pepper.
- The onion should soften but not brown.
- Add the crushed tomatoes and simmer on low heat until the sauce thickens.
