A memory from my student days in Australia is potato wedges served with sour cream and sweet & sour sauce. The combination was unfamiliar and surprising, but absolutely delicious!
Ingredients
Potatoes
French fries seasoning – or seasoning of your choice
Olive oil
Sour cream
Sweet & sour sauce
Salt and pepper
Directions
Cut the potatoes into wedges. The thinner, the faster they'll cook.
Put the wedges in a plastic bag along with a little olive oil and seasoning. Shake or gently squeeze the outside of the bag until all the potato wedges are coated.
Preheat the Hajka Oven with the lid on over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, pour the potatoes into the coated baking pan. Place the bowl directly on the heat shield with hooks (remove the heat reflector; that is the second plate)
Let the potatoes cook until tender on medium heat. Check occasionally and stir gently so they cook evenly. The oil and excess liquid from the potatoes will gradually evaporate. Add more oil during the cooking process if needed.
Season with salt and pepper. Serve with sour cream and sweet & sour sauce - and enjoy!
