Sponge cake

The Hajka oven is perfect for making cakes; if you think plain sponge cake is too boring, add some vanilla powder or grate lemon zest.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 200 ml granulated sugar
  • 75 g butter
  • 100 ml milk
  • 300 ml all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla sugar (optional)

Directions

  1. Melt butter (or use butter-oil mix from the bottle).
  2. Whisk eggs and sugar and mix with the butter.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, and baking powder, mix with the ingredients above.
  4. Add butter to the baking tin and pour in the mix.
  5. Preheat Hajka on medium effect/flame for 5 minutes – use the plate and the oven grate.
  6. Grease the baking tin and the heat distributor - place the heat distributor in the middle.
  7. Add the mix.
  8. Place baking tin on oven grate – bake for 30 minutes on low effect (small flame)
